Why are Bonnie and Clyde such a big deal...?

Well I was just listening to a song and their names were brought up in it, and I just hear so much about them, not just from the song, its just the song that got me thinking about it. I know that they killed people and robbed them and their story but whats the hype? What makes it such a big deal? Banks get robbed all the time.. by girls AND guys.. people get murdered all the time in cold blood and they aren't the first people to kill cops either.. I just don't get how or why they're so popular...
