I learned years ago in gym class that 180 beats (while exercising of course!) should not be exceeded to prevent damage to/strain on the heart. That's awesome that you're in great shape! However, it does sound to me like the excess fat on your body is holding you back from your potential and putting strain on your body. I believe that if you can lose some weight, your heart rate will decrease to a healthy level and you will become that much more in shape and healthier. :)

My dog won't go outside or go potty he just sits?

My dog clyde I've had him about a yr and he's an older dog idk for sure how old but he's usually really good about goin outside to go potty and he loves going out doors he'll wait by the door all day till I let him out and recently he just changed completely he will take a few steps then just sits down and won't move for nothing I'll stand him up and he will jus sit right back down he won't go potty he will just sit and if he walks before he sits he drags his butt a tiny bit. u will grow muscle at the same rate a skinny person will grow muscle but it's just harder of u to see the muscle because (im not tryin to be mean) there is fat covering it up i suggest u inlcude some cardio in your workout b ut keep weight lifting cause it gives u more muscle even though u cant see it and haveing muscle increases your metabolism. your metabolism is the rate at which u burn fat. so a faster metabolism will result in u burning more fat than u normally burn and giving u more energy

alright well for like the last 8 months ive done a full body workout every 2nd day and just 1 exercise for each muscle. there has been times when i have skipped like a few weeks and stuff for being sick and yeah. but now im trying out like monday would be chest and triceps and tuesday would be back and bicep etc. and i would do 3 exercises on each muscle. now which one is better. i thought that the full body one would be better cause its every 2nd day but all my mates do the chest and tricep thing. i thought the chest thing wouldnt be as good because i wouldnt be working the same muscle as often as the full body workout but then i would be putting for stress cause theres 2 more exercises added. this is driving me nuts. please help me in detail thank you so much

High blood pressure confusing.....?

ok so my systolic is usually 140 and higher *max being 168* and my diastolic is always under 80 my pulse is always between 58-63 i'm confused how my numbers are so high. I'm18 (19 in October) 5' 9'' weigh 166 exercise almost everyday for either soccer *at least 1 1/2 hours* or gym * 30-45 mins weights* i drink at least 10 cups of water a day * usually 3 liters* i never drink coke or any soft drink and i rarely eat fast food or out in general. So my question is why is my number so high and if you could give me any tips to reduce it. Thank you for your time

I was in Circuit Training at my high school and I chose the weight lifting sheet. So, I did more weight lifting. It was great! I was more toned, had more strength and was more self confident. But, weights alone won't help you lose weight fast. I'd put in some aerobic exercise. (Rowing, bikes, treadmill, stair-stepper). And for the weight gain, it may bw the lack of aerobic exercise OR keep in mind that muscle does weigh 2x more than fat. Hope this helps!

my right arm is naturally stronger then my left and therefore, over a long time my right tricep and bicep have become larger then my left, making my left arm look really thin compared too my other. its really bothering me bc ive been trying to work my left arm harder for about 2 months now and i dont see a difference. what should i do about this

Opinions on carpet steam cleaners: which one's the best?

i have a bissle pro heat 2x it works pretty good gets most of the water out, during the colder months if were are going to be walking around the clean area i put towels down (not to soak up water but to keep the kids from getting it dirty again before it drys) when it is hot (80's +) takes maybe an hour to dry i don't regret the purchase and find only thing i don't like if the tank the clean water goes into a bladder and has a seperate tank for the solution that as it is sprayed they mix (this is fine with me) but then the dirty water fills the container around the bladder so to dump the dirty water you have to dump lift the entire tank (if it a smal spot then you are lifting clean and dirty water and only dumping the dirty) this is a bit of a hassle since i do mostly spot cleaning, even though the clean water doesn't dump out with the dirty water still don't like having to carry that weight each time i dump dirty water when i did not use all the clean water (just heavy) but i acctually do like no mixing the water with the solution i like having them seperate, becaue there is a dial to adujst the cleaning setting light clean normal and heavy traffic and clean rinse (the clean rinse will not work if the solution tank is empty it still puts some solution on the water but not a lot (bissel brand solution has scotch guard in it this may be why) but i am overal happy with the machine it cleans well does not over wet gets a good amount of the water out the hose is maliuable and not hard have used it on a matress in the late afternoon (during summer) and the bed was ready that night (it was in the low to mid 80's that day) would buy another one despite the way the the clean and dirty water is done (they do not mix but it is a bit of annoying but not problemsome) hard to explain...very satisfied with my machine......do recomend it can't say what percentage of water is sucked back up but it is most of it

ok it's summer and I'm going to be a sophmore next year. I'm kind of a heavy set girl and on top of all that I'm a cheerleader. I want to know how to lose inches off mystomach and thighs mostly but also how too loose more wieght. We work out three days a week. and I want everything to be toned by the time we start school which is in 7 weeks. I also would like to make my face clear up. I tend to break out with a lot of blackheads on my cheeks and chin, also pimples. My car amp is very soft... any ideas?

I bought a second hand amplifier... 1500w Star Sound. I hooked it up to my car 2 days ago. I hooked up a different amp a couple years back so I know I did it right. The power lead is hooked up to the battery with a fuse attached. Remote wire is hooked up to the front loader as well as the RC cables. I mounted the ground wire to a metal bracket the connects onto the back seat. I sanded down so all the paints off and its pure metal...Now I plug everything in and it works fine at low volume. I turn the gain on the amp to full and it starts distorting... I turn the volume on the frontloader to max and its still really soft and still distorts... I can describe it as this.... at low volume it sounds perfect. Clear sound, nice bass etc. once i turn it louder on either the front loader or the amp it distorts and stays at same volume. The sub woofer is fine because I used it up until 2 days ago to put it in the car. Now I don't know what the problem could be... if anyone has any suggestions please help me. Amp is still under guarantee but I don't want to take it back and they test it and it works fine. The wiring kit I used is brand new. 4Gauge power cable and all.

I think you have to go with Team 2 here. The only starter on Team 1 that would dominate his position would be Magic, and only because his game didn't follow the traditional Point Guard style. Im not addicted to pain pills i just like to take them every once in a while?

im going to say it right now so dont get it confused, I AM NOT AN ADDICT. i can focus and enjoy my life without taking any thing and i dont take them very often. it all started last march when i royaly ****** my shoulder, i tore my labrum, rotator cuff and cracked the shoulder joint as well as tore my bicep and a few ligiments behind my shoulder while wrestling, i initially injured it at the begining of the prior season but as the two years went on and i refused to sit out i eventually did severe damage. i was prescribed percocet and norco two pretty strong pain killers and i would take them like normal but after i had the surgery and the pain was gone i would take one every once in a while just to get that feeling when i had to go to some boring event, and now a year later maybe once ever other week i will take one before work just to feel good at that shithole, is anyone else like this not an addict just do it to take the edge off of something boring. i also find myself taking them when i have little pain in my shoulder but my doctor already told me it would happen for that reason for the rest of my life something about a reflex so that i dont feel that type of pain ever again

Do bicep/tricep workouts work out your forearms too?

I do individual workouts for my biceps and triceps and I can always see my forearm flexing with veins and muscle popping out (Im skinny so its easy to see, just started working out), so I assume it works it out too because lets say when I do bicep curls and I max out and I put down the weight, I can feel the burn in my forearm too but not as intense as my bicep but almost there. I would work out my forearms too but I dont want them to be as big as my upper arm though, you know? It would just look weird. If I just dont do any forearm weight lifting at all will they stay the same size or gradually grow as my upper arm grows?

After a bicep workout my bicep dont get any bigger?

Hi i'm 14 and i'm 6ft2 i weight 244.4pounds and after a hard bicep workout i don't see any difference during the bicep workout or after. my workout is bicep curls 3sets 10reps per arm 12.5kg , hammer curls 3 sets 10 reps per arm 10kg and barbell 21's 3sets 20kg. ive been weight lifting for 7months after a week i see a difference in my bicep but i dont see a difference straight away in my bicep why is this am i working the bicep to hard or am i doing to little im not sure someone tell me whats happening?

You have an athletic build. Theres nothing wrong with that and theres not much you can change unless you stop working out. The sports that you do will give you more of an athletic build. Dancers, Cheerleaders, etc, have muscle but there body still looks pretty feminine. If you HAVE to work out so much then I would suggest dressing for your body type in ways that make you look more feminine.:)

Personal Training Advice Please?

You first have to ask yourself when it comes to feeling bulky "do I want to build less muscle to burn less calories at rest" What I mean by this is that by doing higher reps and lighter weight you would be taking away the benefits of increasing your muscle mass at a more substantial rate than using a heavier weight at lower reps does. It always comes back to the diet. If are eating too much and the wrong foods, you will become bulky. A lot of people don't know this or even see the pictures of female fitness competitors but they have an off season where they try to gain muscle mass which leads to a bit of fat gain so when they diet down they have more muscle "tone" I would keep doing what you're doing and just watch your caloric intake. The females I have trained over 10 years as a personal trainer that looked the best are always the ones that have used heavy weight so I suggest you keep your reps 8-10 on each set. Good luck.

yes it is, why are you weight lifting? for muscle toning or muscle building? 17 and 12 kilos wont build much muscle. Muscle mass is obtained by low reps and heavy weight. for muscle mass, try the "Lift to Fail" concept. Lift heavier weights till you just can't life anymore. Every day or every week keep adding more weight. For muscle toning, keep doing what you are doing.

There's this lady I work with, I'm 18 and she can't be any older than 24. She has a bf and maybe some kids. When I first started talking to her she seemed shy and barely said a word to me. Is a rat right for me?

I have read up on rats and though about getting one. I know they are a higher management rodents and need a lot of attention but I'm the type of person that loves coming home from school and taking out your pet the rest of the day. If I did happen to get one I would go for 2 males, so they have company, and males since I read that they are cuddlier and I don't mind there smell. What is a good gym routine for girls?

Currently I am doing a 2k run, 2k row, 2k bike ride, 2k on the arm cross trainer and a set of 3x10 reps on the shoulder press, chest press, bicep curl (all 10kg), adductor and abbductor (both 20kg). I go 2 days running then have a day off and so on. After the day of I add .4 to the run row and ride, and try and add 2.5kg onto the weight training every 4 gym days. Is this a good routine to get in shape? or would you suggest doing cardio one day then weights the next and have one day off a week? thanks.

Road rash healing too tight?

On the inside of my arm, basically right on top of the bicep and close to the inside of my elbow, I got some pretty bad road rash. It's healing up nicely, but too tight - when I try to extend my arm all the way the skin begins to stretch and almost tear in one place. What can I do to prevent this and make it heal properly? The original injury wasn't bad enough to warrant a doctor visit, but now that the scabs have healed and are beginning to flake off I'm mildly concerned about the new skin on my arm.

My Mini Schnauzer has really bad separation anxiety. What more can I do?

I have a 7 month old Mini Schnauzer. He's always had really bad separation anxiety since day one and he's only got slightly better recently. I know I'm to blame as when we first got him, I was at home studying a lot and we never really left him for more than 2 hours max. In those 2 hours, he would howl loudly throughout the entire time (we record him every time we leave) and for that reason, I would try my best not to leave him at all (which obviously hasn't helped)! Now we're at a point where I need to be able to leave him. I have a 4 hour a day job (which I got on purpose so I wouldn't have to leave him for too long). This is what we have tried in order to help his anxiety: aromatherapy diffuser, TV/music, Kong's, putting our coats on/picking up keys then sitting down or taking them off/putting them down again etc (we did this over a few days but didn't seem to help), we've tried him in his crate/out of his crate, we don't make a fuss when we leave or return, we've even watched him on skype while we sit in the car and make distracting noises every time he's about to howl. This is our current routine which seems so minimise his howling: I take him for a run in the fields to wear him out a bit, then get ready for work before siting in the living room, I then exchange his toys for some toys he hasn't played with for a while, put some classical music on, sit with him for a while longer (without fussing with him) then quietly leave. Most of the time he howls so loudly that he loses his voice! I don't know what else I can do, this is ruining my life!!!!

Lifting weights, top heavy?

I recently had a foot injury which willprevent me from doing leg workouts for a month or two (squats, deadlifts, etc..). 2-a-days are in a month and a half and i do not want to lose strength. Would it be wise to just lift upper body and get stronger? My Max for bench press is 220 and squat is like 275. My upperbody is very close to the same strength of my legs which i know is bad. But now with this injury, my legs will only get weaker. Should i continue upper body lifts. If so, will my speed suffer?

Going to a chiropractor for shoulder weakness? Is she a quack or legit?

i tend to think that all chiropractors are quacks. I went to 2 within the past year and feel like i wasted tons of money. i should have just gone to an orthopedic doc in the first place and i could have saved myself a lot of time and money. the first chiropractor i went to took x rays and told me that the reason i was having lower back pain was because my spine needed aligned. so i continued to go and there was no change. in fact it got worse. i then went to a different chiro and that helped some but was not getting the results i wanted. when i went to the orthopedic dr they took x rays and an MRI. it sounds to me like you need an MRI so they know exactly what is going on with your muscles. it hink chiropractors can harm your injury even more. you cannot diagnose something just by looking at it. anyway, i found out that i have extreme spinal stenosis... and i would have never of found that out if i continued going to the chiro. an orthopedic dr will be able to tell you exactly what is wrong instead of telling you what they THINK may be wrong. and something like physical therapy may be better for you that being re aligned and so forth. hope i helped =) good luck

Have my biceps hit a plateau?

I've been working out my biceps with 15lb dumbbells for about 2 months, standing bicep curls. I can't seem to switch to 20lb dumbbells, they seem way too heavy. I lift about 12 reps every set, i haven't really increased in the 2 months. Should i switch to 10lb dumbbells with more reps to confuse my biceps? Or should i just jump to 20lb dumbbells and try my hardest to lift 6 reps?

I personally think you will be overtraining your arms with this. You're already getting stimulation in your tri's and bi's when you work chest and back. I would at least recommend putting your leg day between you chest and bi's and your back, shoulder, tricep day. Oh and you'll never be a monster if you don't eat well. Nutrition is a huge aspect when it comes to putting on muscle. This routine will work considering you don't overdo it while you train. Train hard and train smart. I recued 2 year old clyde abt 2 mnts ago from 10gals of algea filled water. even he was growing mass amounts on his shell. i cleaned him off and set him up in my 55gal with his old tank on top as a basking area. it is easily accessable to him. the water is 74-80* and his basking spot 85-90*. he is eating normal and begs constant. he is very active in the water, but refuses to bask. i thot he would jus need time to ajust. but just yesterday, i got worried and started trapping him in his basking area. he freaked as normal but i made him stay 15 twice. today i went to do the same, but first i cleaned him with a soft toothbrush, the put turle wax on his shell and head.... i gave him 15 min but then took him out to hold or let wonder around (he is calmer than in the basking area) tryin to aquire more dry time. i then noticed the scales on his belly where red. i googled and found to put poroxide on the infected parts nd keep dry. so i did and put him back in the basking tank without the light, i didnt wanna fry him

I eat a lot less than 1g of protein per pound but still see gains?

most people say you should have at least one gram of protein per pound but i have a lot less than that and still am getting significantly stronger and more developed. Right now i only do push ups, pull ups, crunches, bicep curls, tricep curls, dips, dumbell rows(back), shoulder press, and also jog 5 days per week. I am definitely getting more fit and my arms especially are getting bigger (people have pointed it out) so do i really need to take protein shakes or increase my food intake?

Extreme pain in my elbow?

i play softball and it started about 8 months ago i get pain in my elbow while/after playing softball. the pain got worse and worse. while im playing the pain gets so bad that my elbow gets stiff and i lose grip strength on my hand to where the point that i can hardly make a fist. also the pain makes my hand shake. the pain radiates from my elbow in to my bicep and down to my hand. ice only makes it worse, heat and advil help but they do not help longterm. can anybody tell me what this is?

Why does my iPhone 4 keep on disconnecting while using Personal Hotspot?

I'm using an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.3. My wifi's speed at home is 30kb/s at max. On the iPhone it's usually 300kb/s, which is amazing. But after few mintues of me connecting the iPhone via usb to my laptop activating a personal hotspot, the internet stops working and in the network settings it says "No internet access". Microphone not working properly?

On Monday I do bench press and dead lifts, on Wednesday I do shoulder and leg exercises and on friday i do bicep and triceps exercises. In about a month I had much more developed biceps and I had developed a small chest, and I was developing abs slowly (no pack though). But ever since then I haven't grown at all, i am stronger, I can bench more and lift heavier dumbbells but I am not bigger, I want to gain size and I want to get cuts. I weigh 120lbs. Any help?

Ford F350 Diesel 6.0 oil level?

i recently(3weeks ago) did an oil change on F350 Deisel 6.0 powerstroke and the dealership told me that it takes 16 qrts of oil. I put 16 qrts in it and found out that it only took 15 qrts and it even shows on the dip stick that it is over the max. My question is will it being over filled cause me to burn oil. 2 days ago it started to have a puff of bluish smoke only on take off. If i an moving and give it gas it will not smoke. I am draining some out of it to get the level right, but not sure if this can cause it to smoke.

Well, I have a 23inch LG screen with a max resolution of 1920x1080 and a XFX Radeon HD 6970. Problem is on some games I have a black square around the screen. Like I can see the game and I set the game resolution to 1920x1080, but the game picture is like centerd and there is a black area around the game picture. Is there a setting I have to change? Or what? I set resolutions to 1920x1080 but still no luck. F.E.A.R 3 and Prince of Persia show the same result as well as Crysis 2. Anyone have suggestions?

ok so here's the story....i've had my two gerbils, bonnie and clyde for about 9 weeks now....they were already 4 months old when i got them so they are about six months old now...the man in the pet shop wasnt sure of their sex but when i brought them home i sexed bonnie to be a girl and clyde as a boy....but they havent had babies together before...they are both the sweetest gerbils, who would fall asleep in my hands for hours on end and just love coming out, but the past two weeks have been different. they had bedding all over their cage and tunnels everywhere, but they pushed it all over to the one corner of the cage and now no tunnels remain, there is just bedding with a hole in the middle, like a nest. And the water bottle is emptying a lot faster. Then when i took bonnie out, she started squeaking and wouldnt let me pick her up, and when i did she started nipping at me to get me to put her down and cylde wont sit still for even a second he just rushes to get back into the cage. this has carried on for two weeks now, and i tried holding bonnie again today, she has a tiny little bulge under her belly but it's very tiny.....and she's still behaving the same way, as is clyde....they just want to go back into their cage to carry on making their nest...please help, is bonnie pregnant???????

I am 20 years old 5"11 and 145 lb. I always lift heavy and never lower the weight I bench 270lb, bicep curl 55lb dumbbell and leg press 550lb. Some people at the gym remind me about form and how I should lower the weight. Should I take this approach and focus on form rather than always lifting heavy weights. Also I am beginning to wonder because even though I lift heavy weights my body frame stays the same and I think it is because of my form. Should I lower the weight and when I get to 10 reps increase because what I do now is as soon as I get to 5-6 reps I up the weight. Is form better to build muscle rather than heavy weight. Any advice would be appreciated.

3DS MAX SELECT PROBLEM!!!!!!!! Select/rotate/scale tools not showing up?

i am modeling in 3ds max and all of a sudden when i click the select or rotate or scale tool i do not see the guides that usually come up on screen. I am talking about those blue, green, and red arrows for select that help me move an object on the xyz axis, the green blue red circles that allow me to rotate on the xyz axis and the green blue red lines that allow me to scale on the xyz axis. All i can do is move the object around the 4 different screens guessing the position. PLEASE HELP HOW DO I GET THE TOOL GUIDES VISIBLE!!! i did not press anything out of the ordinary, all i did was boot the program up and now the guides do not show up when i click the select/rotate/scale tools.

what i find most effective is to have no bench position players that way you dont feel bad if someone on your bench has a big day and you put him in next day and he sucks. so pick up pitchers and drop position players. no one really mentions zambrano but he is quitely havin a solid year and is unowned in alotta leagues. beachey is also a good pick up if you can. if you dont like any of the available pitchers try trading a couple position players and maybe a pitcher for a better pitcher. good luck

I injured my arm but dont know exactly what happened?

I was playing basketball and a kid drove through the lane. He knocked me back and as I was falling I put my arms down to lessen the fall. My right hand planted and immediately a shock when up my arm. Initially I had thought that I fractured my forearm it hurt so bad. later that night I realized that the pain was centered around my elbow. The pain was originating from the muscles around my elbow, so it was my upper forearm both sides of my elbow and the base of my bicep closest to my elbow. Since the injury I have severe, intense, sharp pain whenever I rotate my wrist, bend my arm, hold something with weight in my hand or squeeze. there is swelling around my elbow but there is very little discoloration. I think that I might have either hyper-extended my elbow to where my muscles are sore or that I may have torn something around my elbow. Any advice of what may have happened is appreciated. I don't find it smart to exercise on a stomach full of bran anyway. I can't exercise on a full stomach without getting nauceous nor canI exercise on an empty one either. I just eat light before exercising. I'm guessing that is what happened. If you had started eating at say 8:00 this morning, the food would have time to be digested. But since you didn't start until 2:00 and exercised at 4:00, it was still in your stomach. Try not eating so close to your start of exercise.

3 inch mosquito bite?

Last night I was outside and I felt when I got this bite. It's on the inside of my bicep. A couple minutes afterward, it was already pretty large, between the size of a nickel and quarter. Today it's a little over a 3 inch diameter and mostly spread down my arm, rather than an equal distance around the redder mark in the middle.
